In 2025, the Orange Tree Foundation inducted a bright young individual named Muhammad Haris into its scholarship programme. Shortly after his induction, our preliminary background investigation revealed severe health problems faced by the student— an issue which only compounded his usual academic and financial struggles.
Haris had gone through two prior surgeries due to a brain tumor, an ordeal which led to complications in his skull. Consequently, his doctors recommended a third procedure in the form of a cranioplasty to restore his skull. However, due to severe financial constraints, his parents could not afford the procedure. With his cranioplasty postponed indefinitely, Haris was forced to carry on with his education while living with post-surgical cranial defects.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the healthcare department of OTF stepped in to help alleviate Haris’s struggle. Through continuous guidance, support and follow-ups, Haris had a successful cranioplasty at the Neurospinal and Cancer Care Institute (NCCI), with OTF covering all the essential medical costs. Today, Haris is recovering from his surgery, and looking forward to a bright academic and professional future, with strength and optimism.
The story is a testament to the Orange Tree Foundation’s commitment to provide holistic support to students from financially challenged backgrounds, covering not only their tuition fees but their healthcare, transport and school supplies. Through this holistic support model, students like Haris are able to transform their stories of resilience to one of optimism and strength.
Every Scholar deserves the opportunity to heal, grow and succeed, and the Orange Tree Foundation is committed to making that into a reality.
